Your Most Important Assignment
If you’re a follower of Jesus, it’s worth asking yourself a simple question: what kind of Christian are you? There’s a spectrum—on one end, there are the bold believers who know they’ve been chosen by God. These individuals wake up each day with a clear sense of divine purpose, delving into Scripture, seeking guidance from the Holy Spirit, and constantly finding opportunities to share God’s love. They take the Great Commission seriously, striving to spread the gospel, baptize others in Christ’s name, and reflect the character of Jesus in every action.
On the other end, some might consider themselves “normal” Christians. They have faith, they love God, but they feel busy or overwhelmed with the demands of life. A stay-at-home parent might be focused on daily responsibilities, a student might be buried under academic pressures, or a retiree may simply want to enjoy a well-earned rest. They believe, they try, but they don’t necessarily live each day on a mission to spread the gospel.
Regardless of where you see yourself, one truth remains: in Christ, there’s no such thing as “normal.” The Bible teaches that anyone in Christ is a new creation—transformed, redeemed, and made whole by the power of the Savior. This isn’t just a personal transformation; it’s a calling. Paul’s words in 2 Corinthians remind us that through Christ, we are reconciled to God and given a ministry of reconciliation. As ambassadors for Christ, we represent God’s love and grace in a world that desperately needs both. The very word “ambassador” comes from the Greek term presbeuo, used by Paul even while he was in chains. It signifies someone chosen to carry a message, to reflect a kingdom not of this world.
If you’re a Christian, then you’re not called to be ordinary. You’re empowered to be extraordinary—sharing hope, love, and the truth of Christ’s salvation wherever you go. Whether bold or hesitant, we’re all invited to embrace the fullness of this identity: ambassadors of the Most High God, sent to shine His light in a dark world.
