Update on my brother Dan.
Didn\'t do biopsy. Too risky for bleeding & tumor so big, they have to take kidney regardless. Surgery scheduled for 05/31. Hemoglobin low. Slight traces blood in urine, but it’s better. On fluid restriction to get sodium levels up. Heart rhythm stable. Has lost a lot of weight. Made changes to diet to help build him up. Appetite has not been good. Hope having new food choices will help. Had blood transfusion (2 units) to build up hemoglobin. Urinalysis to determine type cancer - it’s not aggressive urotherial cancer, Thank the Lord. Echocardiogram results good. Transfusion improved blood counts. Everything lining up for surgery. Please pray for Dan. May God hold him in His healing light & His Holy Spirit guide doctors & nurses. Once through this, has to have surgery to correct abdominal aortic aneurysm. Then need to determine management of A-Fib & the rest. I put all my trust in Jesus & know Dan is safe in His care. Update & request for continued prayers for my brother Dan.
He\'s been to a different hospital. Performed embolization & blood in urine is just about clear. Treating A-Fib w/meds til they get kidney tumor & then abdominal aortic aneurysm taken care of. Constant monitoring of blood, heart, kidneys & meds. Performing biopsy on tumor tomorrow to determine type cancer to decide on operation & treatment. Results take 3-5 days. Continue observe aneurysm til they can operate to fix. Dan tired & weak, his voice not quite as boisterous & his dislike for hosp scene still strong but they\'re taking good care of him. Obvious prayers definitely helping & God is holding Dan close as he is handling all pretty well considering.
I praise & thank God for taking care of Dan & for positive progress in his health & care. I pray that God will continue to bless Dan & keep him strong, comfortable & healing, one step at a time. May Holy Spirit continue to guide all tending him w/wisdom & compassion. May His Angels continue to surround, uplift & protect him & keep rest of us well as we pray & support him.

MOST URGENT PRAYER REQUEST

My brother, Dan, has had some setbacks since his stroke. Things seemed to be going well for a bit but then he had a complication with one of his medications. Then blood in the urine. Back in the hospital. They stopped the med & that seems to be clearing the one problem. Several tests, blood work, MRI, CT, etc. Found abdominal aortic aneurysm, found large tumor on kidney, and his heart is in/out of rhythm.

With all thats going on, they have to take things one at a time. Continuing to monitor blood & treat A-Fib medicinally. He spiked a fever last night. Chest X-ray to check for pneumonia was clear. Doing blood cultures to check for any infection (won\'t have results til tomorrow). Once they are certain the urine is clear (which it just about is), his rythm is under control and they are certain there is no other infection or underlying problems they will let him go home to rest while they schedule him for surgery to remove the tumor and kidney. They feel it will be best to take it all as Dan will be fine with one kidney & then he won\'t have to do chemo but will need immunotherapy.

Once that\'s taken care of they will schedule surgery to correct aortic aneurysm. The doctors feel this will be best timing wise as they believe this aneurysm has been there for a while, but Dan is not having any pain or difficulties because of it and this particular aneurysm is very slow to form. It will be cleared so they can focus on his A-Fib which will be controlled either with meds or a heart ablation.

So many things depend on so many other things and it is all very tough on my brother who has generally been in good health but he is 77 now and terrible when it comes to health issues, doctors, hospitals, etc. His wife Velma, who we prayed for when she was diagnosed with A-Fib last year. After some trials a heart ablation was performed and she is now stable under doctor\'s care with medications. But this is all very upsetting for Velma, Dan\'s kids and grandkids as well as the rest of my family, myself and our two sisters; Carol who was just diagnosed with bronchitis and Diane who is still recovering from her open heart surgery in February.

I am urgently requesting your prayer support for Dan and all of us to get thru all this.

God the Father, Lord Jesus the Son and God the most Blessed Holy Spirit, please hear my prayer. Let Your healing and redeeming light shine upon my brother. Let You Holy Spirit guide him and give him the confidence, comfort and peace he needs. Let You Angels surround him and protect him from all pain, stress and harm and bring him calming, healing rest.

God guide his doctors to the right decisions, tests, medications, procedures, surgeries. Guide their minds and their hands to perform the proper healing necessary to bring him back home to us. He still has many years ahead of him and we all need him so. He has become the patriarch of our family since Dad went to heaven and he is my only big brother on this earthly plain and I need him.

Lord I place my brother and all my fears and tears into Your hands. For it is by Your will and Your plan that our future resides and prospers. And I truly believe that You are the only source of all blessings and good things for us, Your children. I trust in You. I depend on You. I love You Lord with all my heart.

I thank You for the sacrifice You made to save us and I thank You for all good things past, present and yet to come. Please grant us Your strength, Your healing, Your comfort and Your peace. May we walk hand-in-hand with You thru this difficult time; in complete faith, safe in the knowledge that with You all things are possible and with You all will be well. Into Your hands Lord God.
