When You’re Not Where You Thought You’d Be in Life
Welcome back to Therapy and Theology, where we help you work through what you walk through. I’m Shaya Hill, and I’m so glad to be joined with Lisa Turkers today, and we’re so excited to talk to you about the new upcoming season that is just around the corner, season 11, and also what you can expect from therapy and theology in 2026.
I wanted to let you guys know just a little bit of a life update. You’re going to be hearing from me even more in 2026 on the podcast. I have stepped into a full-time role to be able to put my brain on therapy and theology um all the time. So, that’s on YouTube and the podcast and so many new things that we’re also excited to brainstorm.
So, you’re going to be hearing from me outside of just the hosting segments that I’ve done before on the show. And I’m so thankful for this opportunity and excited to be a part of therapy and theology in a new and deeper way. You know, Shay, you’ve sat beside me since 2016, processing um the hardships and the hope and the struggles and the healing all the way since um my book, Uninvited.
There’s no one that I trust more to have a voice included in therapy and theology than you. You have been an encouragement to me. You are a wealth of wisdom, and I can’t wait to hear more from you. >> Thanks, Lisa. I’m excited to step a little bit more from the behind thescenes role that I’ve been in and play a little bit more uh I guess a a bigger part in what God is doing just in this podcast and in this program at Proverbs 31 Ministries.
Um I truly believe the best is yet to come. So friends, after taking a little bit of a break in January 2026, we are so excited to be releasing four brand new episodes in season 11 starting next week. And I’m loosely calling this new season health check. As we’ll spend each week diving into one designated area of health in our lives together, we’re going to cover spiritual health, mental health, emotional health, and relational health.

Im 53. Ive been married 3 times. None lasted more than a couple months.. ive been single most my life. I never got asked out in highschool... I cant have a family of my own at this point in my life and I cry. Im alone. Isolated. I pray for a husband and a family everyday... im so lonely, and feel like my life has been wasted. Why am I here? Just to work and scrape by?

Heavenly Father, I lift up this precious heart to You. Lord, You see their loneliness, their longing for love, and the pain they carry. Please surround them with Your comfort and remind them that they are deeply loved and never alone.
Fill their life with Your presence, peace, and new hope. Bring caring people into their life who will walk beside them with kindness and support. Renew their sense of purpose and help them see the beautiful ways You can still work through their life.
Lord, heal the places in their heart that feel empty and restore their joy. Let them feel Your love today in a real and comforting way.

I recently lost my job due to position elimination. I\'m feeling useless and invaluable, particularly since I loved my job and this has happened a few times before due to no fault of my own. I feel as if God does not care about me. I don\'t understand why He keeps taking .y jobs away.

Heavenly Father, I lift up this dear person to You. Lord, You see their disappointment, their questions, and the hurt they feel after losing their job. Please comfort their heart and remind them that they are valuable and deeply loved by You.
Father, open new doors of opportunity for them. Guide them to the right place where their gifts, skills, and passion can be used. Provide for their needs during this season and fill them with peace instead of fear.
Help them trust that You are still working in their life even when the path is unclear. Renew their hope and give them strength for each day.
