What is this celebration around the world stopping the world telling you? Is that your life being joined to him is the most important privilege you could ever have. You need to have a secret place with God. You need a secret place in your in your heart and you need a secret place every day just to be in the secret place with God.
You can open up or you can just you can I’ll tell you where I’m going to be. So if you have your Bibles, it’s Galatians 4. I’m starting there and then I’m going to go to Luke. That’s going to be the one other main place. All right. So let’s start. This is just one verse. Galatians 4 verse four.
But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his son, born of women, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as children. Fullness of time. Let’s go back 2,000 years to the world back then as it was back in time to the Roman world. The greatest empire that had ever been the Roman Empire spans the Middle East or near east uh or rather Mediterranean world, Greece, Asia Minor, Syria and the place called Israel or Judea back then.
The north coast of Africa is the Roman Empire. Egypt, North Africa, all that land there. Spain, Europe, the land that would become France and and all those other lands up to the border of Britain is the Roman Empire. Roman roads connect the world. Roman soldiers are stationed all over the Roman Empire.
Roman language, Latin is spoken all over the western half and the eastern half it’s more Greek. Roman temples are all over the Roman Empire. Roman gods are worshiped. There are priests of the Roman gods. Much of it based on the Greek gods. Jupiter who’s a a Roman version of Zeus, Neptune of Poseidon, Pluto of Hades, Venus of Aphrodites, Mars of Aries, and many more all over a pagan world.
The city of Rome is the center of it, the center of the empire and much of world culture. It’s a culture of circuses and arenas, gladiators, games, the height of pagan culture. And it’s ruled by emperors who were made into gods themselves. And everyone was required at one point to worship the emperors. The Roman Empire had only been an empire for less than 50 years before Messiah was born.
