Speak Over Your Life – Faith for the Impossible

This summary and rewrite draws exclusively on the teachings of Bill Winston Ministries, detailing the transformative power of the spoken Word of God, the believer’s role as an ambassador, and the critical link between confession and possession of one’s divine inheritance.

The Supreme Power of the Spoken Word

The Word of God is unequivocally the most powerful thing that exists, period. As believers, we are ambassadors from heaven, sent by God to deliver His word. This practice of speaking the Word is key to how it works in and through the life of a believer.

Historically and spiritually, words are the mechanism for divine action:

  • Most of what Jesus did—one man said 99%—was accomplished using words.
  • The Word of God will not return to you void. If a believer stays with what God said and does not change their confession, that word is guaranteed to work.
  • The Word works continuously, even while the believer is sleeping or eating breakfast, and it will never, ever come back without the job being done.

The Believer’s Divine Commission: Managing the Earth

Adam was initially given words to manage the earth. Since the earth must be managed, God has placed the believer in a position of management.

The believer’s commission is clear: be fruitful, multiply, replenish the earth, and subdue it. This mandate requires obtaining God’s Word to manage circumstances that are often beyond natural human capability.

When the Word of God is heard, faith comes. When faith becomes full in the heart, the mouth will speak, leading to a decree. Job 22:28 promises: “Thou shall also decree a thing and it shall be established“. This power enables believers to manage everything from the White House to the outhouse, including economies.

The Core Principle: Confession (Homologia)

The key to accessing the power of the Word is confession.

The Definition of Confession

The word “confess” in Greek is homologia, which means to say the same thing. This means the believer must speak God’s words exactly as He wrote them, in the same tense.

It is not sufficient to say what is acceptable to the world; the believer must say what Daddy said.

Why Tense Matters

Confession requires speaking in the present tense because God lives in the eternal and has no time; everything He says is.

  • Correct Confession (Present Tense): “I am healed”. “I am rich”. “I am the lender”.
  • Incorrect Confession (Future Tense): Saying “I’m going to be healed” or “I’m going to be the father of a multitude” (like Abraham could have said) is incorrect. If the believer uses the future tense, God cannot move.

This divine principle applies universally. For instance, God changed Abram’s name to Abraham, confirming “I’ve made thee a father of many nations” in the past/present tense, requiring Abraham to confess this reality.

Possessing Your Supernatural Inheritance

Words are the mechanism that causes believers to possess their inheritance. The inheritance cannot be acquired without speaking the Word of eternal life.

According to Revelation 5:12, God has given the believer: power, riches, wisdom, strength, honor, glory, and blessing.

  • Riches and Abundance: Riches are explicitly part of the inheritance. Broke is not a part of the believer’s inheritance; their portion is at least a millionaire. Furthermore, because the blessing is designed to make you the head and not the tail, wherever the believer goes, they are supposed to be the richest.
  • Healing and Debt Cancellation: Healing and debt cancellation are also part of this inheritance.
  • The Power of Release: Releasing the Word of God—for example, declaring “we’re turning jails into boarding schools”—activates the spiritual forces necessary to bring that declaration to pass.

Satan’s Strategy: Stopping the Confession

The enemy knows the immense power of God’s Word. When a believer speaks God’s Word, Satan is the one most upset because he knows the Word will work.

Satan’s strategy involves:

  1. Stealing the Revelation: He intentionally stole the revelation of words because he knew this knowledge would allow believers to manage him.
  2. Promoting Contrary Speech: He tries to push believers into contrary speech and surrounds them with people who do not believe God’s Word, attempting to talk them out of their confession (“Who do you think you are?”).
  3. Using Division: In Genesis 11, God stopped the builders of the Tower of Babel by confounding their speech, recognizing that a unified group speaking the same thing can achieve powerful results.

The believer must resist the world’s way of doing things, which is designed to keep them in bondage, and instead loose the system of the world to embrace the Kingdom system by faith.
