Pastor Kent Christmas | Sing A New Song | July 10, 2024
You’re watching KCMI TV. Thank you for joining me today. First, I want to share something that I felt the Lord dropped in my spirit during prayer. I believe many of us around the world have been struggling just to survive each day. But today, I heard the Lord speak prophetically, saying, “The songbird that has died, I am about to revive in the mouth of My people.” I declare that you will sing a new song by the Spirit, for God is up to something big—I can sense it in the Spirit.
In light of this, I want to talk to you about the concept of an open and closed heaven. I have experienced both, and I can tell you that living under an open heaven is far greater than living under a closed one. Let’s begin with Deuteronomy 28, a chapter we’re familiar with, as it outlines the blessings and curses God gave to Moses for the children of Israel.
In verse 12, it says, “The Lord will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give rain to your land in its season and to bless all the work of your hands.” This is what happens when God opens heaven over your life: “You shall lend to many nations, but you will not borrow. You will be the head and not the tail; you will be above and not beneath, if you will listen to and obey the commands of the Lord your God.”
The key to an open heaven is obedience. God says, “If you do what I tell you, I will open the heavens over your life.” But many people want to live according to their own will, wondering why they aren’t experiencing God’s blessings.
