You’re watching KCMI TV. Let’s dive into the Word of the Lord today. We’ll start by reading from the Book of Genesis, and then we will move on to the Book of Matthew. First, let’s read Genesis 1:26, which says, “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness, and let them have dominion.” God then goes on to describe what dominion means, but for now, I want to focus on the key part where God says He is making man in His image and likeness. This means man will physically resemble God and possess His moral character or nature.

Now, let’s turn to Matthew 22:15. The Pharisees plotted to trap Jesus with His words. Imagine this: they gather together, brainstorming ways to catch Him in a mistake. Some of them even say, “Never has a man spoken like this,” yet they still try to deceive Him. Eventually, they send their disciples with the Herodians to ask Him a question: “Master, we know You are true and teach the way of God in truth. You don’t care about anyone’s opinion and don’t show favoritism. Tell us, is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar or not?” They hoped that whichever way He answered, they would have Him trapped.

But Jesus, knowing their evil intentions, responded, “Why do you test me, you hypocrites? Show me the tribute money.” They presented Him with a coin. He asked, “Whose image and inscription is on this?” They replied, “Caesar’s.” Jesus then said, “Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.” When the Pharisees heard this, they were amazed and left.
