Pastor Kent Christmas | Fear | January 15, 2025
You’re watching KCMI TV, and I’m glad you’re joining me today. I want to talk to you about something that is absolutely paramount in the Scriptures and has a profound impact on whether we end up in heaven or hell. Sadly, it’s not discussed as often as it should be. Today, I want to dive into the topic of fear.
As I’ve been reflecting on this over the last few days, I think I can sum up fear this way: Fear is nothing more than the voice of the devil, the voice of the enemy. Jesus said of Satan, “He is a liar, and there is no truth in him.” Fear, then, is the enemy speaking lies to you about your current situation, your struggles, or your future.
When God cast Satan out of Heaven, He didn’t strip him of his power or ability. He stripped him of his authority, meaning Satan cannot legally do anything in your life. For Satan’s lies to come to fruition, he needs your mind to agree with them. As long as you refuse to agree with the lies the enemy tries to plant in your mind, they cannot take hold. But once you come into agreement with the enemy’s lies, you give them life.
The enemy is a counterfeiter. He always tries to imitate God’s ways. This is why it’s so important to guard your mind, as our minds are where the real battle takes place. The battlefield isn’t in sexual sin, unforgiveness, hatred, or covetousness—it’s in our minds, where we fight the temptation to walk in unbelief and doubt God’s promises.
