Choices
-
You’re watching [music] KCMI TV. >> Well, thank you for joining me today and um I want to talk to you about something that really um it deals with choices and a lot of our choices when we make them, we don’t see the result of them perhaps years later. So I want to read uh a few verses out of the book of Hebrews uh chapter 4 and verse one.
-
It says, “Let us therefore fear lest a promise being left us of entering into his rest any abuse should seem to come short of it.” Verse [clears throat] six, seeing therefore it remainth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached, entered not in because of unbelief. And then verse 11, let us labor therefore.
-
It just doesn’t happen. You got to labor therefore to enter into that rest lest any man fall after the same example of [clears throat] unbelief. Um the Bible is very clear about this that you and I do not get to pick uh the direction of our life. Bible says, “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and there’s a way that seemth right into man, but the end thereof is death.
-
” And that as many as are led by the spirit, they are the sons of God. And so when we get saved, God takes over. You you you don’t get to make arbitrary choices and tell God, “Well, I I I don’t want to do that. I’m going to do this.” And so we know this that God’s thoughts towards us are good and they’re not evil.
-
And everything that God does for you, he only has good intentions. Whether it’s [clears throat] going through discipline or going through difficult times, uh many times uh the valleys that we go through are just simply about God producing roots in us that when storms come, the storms don’t take us out.
-
And and I know this by experience and even in the agricultural world, it’s true that the longer and the deeper it takes for roots to grow, the less that you see on the surface. And so many people who feel like, well, my life has not produced, but you’ve been close to the Lord is because God is producing roots. And the deeper the roots, the bigger the tree, the stronger the tree.
