Multi-Generational Leadership & Making Room for Others

  • I want to be old and I want to be in the spaces where I still believe that God is getting ready to do something I’ve never seen him do before. Hi friends, I’m Christine Kaine and you’re listening to the Life and Leadership Podcast where we share conversations with faithfilled leaders from all over the globe.
  • God, I have so much to be thankful for and even in the midst of my suffering, you are present. I feel like the next generation are rising and choosing consecration, not deconstruction. I’m an ambassador. I’m representing another kingdom. Now, my prayer is that our time together each week activates you to fulfill your God-given purpose and to follow Jesus wholeheartedly as you lead within your particular sphere of influence.
  • Hey friends, before we dive in, I want to invite you to share this podcast with a friend so we can see more people growing in their God-given purpose. Now, I’m so excited because I’ve got a really special guest for you today. My friend Noamie Shavers is here and she’s a fiery pastor, just a great woman of God and I know you’re going to love her.
  • So, let’s dive in together. Okay, my friend, you are straight back from hiking Machu Picchu, which like you are now my hero. Um, I felt like I was the one that got you into hiking and then you’ve exceeded me. Before we before we even get into this, you got to tell me um why you did it and how long it took and how you felt about doing that epic hike in Peru.
  • Yeah. I mean, listen, the most brutal hike I’ve ever done was with you. And so, thank you for introducing me to the beauty and brutality of hiking. Uh, it was breathtaking when I first did that with you. And then this opportunity came up to join a cohort of uh business owners and highlevel leaders in the church that are crazy enough to want to do this together.
  • And we hiked over 50 miles. Um, it’s crazy. And it was it’s called the Sulen Tide Trek. And it was such a beautiful challenge. It was hard. Listen, I am asmatic. So, I’m saying this because I I did it. Listen, I am so proud of myself. You should be. You should be. And I had some moments where I wanted to cry cuz I was like, I can’t breathe.
  • And um but I the people that were with me, which is so significant um when you’re walking with people who are willing to slow down um so that you can catch your breath again, they were kind um super lovingly patient and um I made it through. It was a total of seven days of hiking. And I mean with all of the other stuff we did, it was probably because we did even within Cusco, we did some hiking there.
  • So, it was so many days of hiking, but these lodge to lodge experiences were stunning, exhausting. Um, but the sites, I was so glad to see these sites in person because I’ve wondered if AI makes things more beautiful than they are in real life. And I kept on telling my husband, “Babe, is this AI?” Like, this is unbelievable. So, we got it.
