uh locally uh Friday night and yesterday, Saturday afternoon, uh we had our choir and orchestra perform their Christmas presentation. And for those of you who are locally in attended, it was amazing. This is all uh talent. Uh none of this, it’s not a these people are not paid to do this. Um it’s the love of God.
There was massive uh participation with those um just the body of Christ serving the body of Christ. It was moving. It was so powerful, so well done. And my goodness, if you were there, you know what I’m talking about. Um, but I it it was great because um I had talked to somebody there who didn’t want to go. They were made to go.
They they were coerced, pressured, pushed into going and they didn’t want to go. And then once they got there and saw the quality and the performance of it and the celebration of Christmas and of Christ, um, they said, “I loved it. It was great. I’m so glad I came. And isn’t that how things are in life so many times? Certainly good things.
It’s funny how we almost don’t have a problem going to the dumb things, the stupid things. But how many times do we not want to go to this thing or to that thing, whatever it is, especially if it’s church related? I don’t want to go. And then you go and it is absolutely amazing. That happens a lot. I have to confess. There’s times when I wake up in the morning and I don’t want to go to church.
I just physically do not want to go to church mentally. Um I’m just feeling off. You ever woken up and feeling off? You’re just off. You’d rather just stay in bed. It’s pretty bad when that happens. It’s really bad when it’s a Sunday morning and I’m the one teaching. What do you do? Can you call in sick? Nope.
That would probably be I can’t even imagine what God would do if that were to happen. Where I know I’m the pastor, but I think I’m going to call in sick today. I don’t feel like going to church. I don’t think a pastor can do that. I don’t think God would allow that. But I felt it. But you don’t give into your feelings.
God does good things even when we don’t even expect him to. Show up, the old saying goes, and you’ll be blessed. So today, before we pray, everybody, it’s an appropriate verse. I have to tell you, I deliberately connected this verse with today’s date on the calendar. So today is Sunday, December 7th, 2025. 84 years ago, my mom’s orphanage was bombed that she was living in in Aahu.
Today’s the day, December 7th, where 84 years ago on this Sunday morning on the island of Aahu, Hawaii, uh the Japanese attacked uh Pearl Harbor and other parts of the island, but predominantly Pearl Harbor. Uh tomorrow on December 8th, 1941, there will be several Japanese aircraft that will attack San Francisco.
Very rarely ever mentioned. Don’t know why. Very strange. Following that, there there will be a um a two or threeman Japanese submarine that will be taken captive or sunk off the coast of Long Beach here, just not far from where I’m at. Um for those of you who live in Southern California, there’s the gigantic massive uh bli
