LIFT Daily Prayer: Day 200: Gathered by Sacrifice
-
So grateful for so many of you being with us and being encouraged. I’m so encouraged by how many young people um are have been joining uh our time together. uh with their parents. Um we’re in a lot of time zones, maybe not so much in California at 5:00 a.m. as we are right now together, but um maybe later in the day or for some of you who are in the East Coast and in Europe.
-
Uh it’s just been great to find out um that you guys are joining in and even your kids have been joining in with you and this has become a habit and that’s exactly what I’ve wanted to see at least one of the things is that for us to to be committed in fact this morning everybody it’s Psalm 50 verse5 Psalm 50 verse 5.
-
In Psalm 50 verse 5, the Bible says, the psalmist writes, David writes, “Gather my saints together to me, those who have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.” Beautiful, beautiful psalm of devotion. And we’ll pray here in a moment, but gather my saints together to me. That seems to be the habit of God, isn’t it? He loves to gather his people together.
-
And so in the context of Psalm 50, he’s talking about his uh brothers and sisters of the house of Abraham, for example, the Jew, um believing Israel, uh the believers of Israel. uh the scripture would say the the true Israel uh those who are worshiping the Lord. So David is saying that God is speaking to him saying gather my saints together to me.
-
That’s a call to worship isn’t it when the Lord says gather my saints together. You guys are immediately reminded of Hebrews 10:25 where it says, “Do not forsake the gathering of one another as some have sought to do. Some have sought to not gather.” But he says, “But you all the more meet together, especially as you see the day approaching.
-
” Isn’t that amazing? That’s Hebrews 10:25. Dovetales perfectly into gather my saints together to me. Now, this is beautiful because God is saying, I want my Jewish people to gather together to me and I want those of the church to gather together to me. Yes, they’re different, but we are called his saints. There are tribulation saints that are yet in the future during the seven-year tribulation period.
