Get up every day and look out in the world in which you live and say, “Thank you, Lord, for this new day. Thank you for light. Thank you for air to breathe.” Experience every day totally. When you live in uncertainty, that’s how you live. Every day is a gift and you enjoy it. Then he goes on to say in verses 9 and 10, “Enjoy your youth thoroughly.
” One of the major themes of Solomon’s book is that we are to enjoy life. In verse 24 of chapter 2, he says, “Nothing is better for a man than that he should eat and drink and that his soul should enjoy good.” In verse 26 of chapter 2, “For God gives wisdom and knowledge and joy to a man.” Chapter 8:15, I commended enjoyment.

Because you see, life seems more unpredictable every day. And it is. In fact, King Solomon said this. He said, “Life is uncertain. It is short. It is mysterious.
” And perhaps he also would have said, “Get used to it. Solomon’s sentiment is that we shouldn’t let the world stop us from living entirely committed to God. Instead of living behind locked doors, Jesus calls us to engage with life, to represent him boldly until he returns. We’re going to explore Solomon’s words in today’s message entitled Fully Engaged with Life.
