The thing is, if you have a rotten smell, but it’s around you all the time, you’ll get used to it. And what happens with evil is people, if you get around all the time, you’ll get desensitized to it. Tonight, we’re going to see how actually this goes along with a revelation from Hanukkah about the end times that’s happening now. Revelation 12 verse 11 says, “But they overcame him, the enemy, by the blood of the lamb, the word of their testimony, and loving not their lives to death.
” This year, Christmas and Hanukkah came together. There’s actually a link between the two holidays. They both are about light. They both are about light overcoming the darkness. They both happen against all odds. They both celebrate what the world calls weak against what the world calls powerful. Christmas celebrates the one who kept Hanukkah.
Christmas falls on the 25th day of the winter month of December. Hanukkah falls on the 25th day of the winter month of Kisv. It’s recorded in the book of Mcabes. Now, Mcabes is not scripture, but it is history and the history records the hand of God saving his people, saving the Bible, saving the faith. Hanukkah is prophesied in the Hebrew scriptures.
In between the two testaments, there was a king named Antiochus, evil man. Daniel speaks about Antiochus, but he also speaks about the Antichrist in the same context. In fact, it kind of overlaps. Sometimes you have to distinguish between what he’s saying. He says there’s going to be persecution. And he says it’ll be for a time, times, and half a time.
Time is a year, times is two years, and half a time is half a year. Three and a half years. Does that sound familiar? It connects with Antiochus, but it also appears in the book of Revelation about the Antichrist, what is yet to come because Antiochus even sounds like it is a foreshadow of the Antichrist.
