Welcome to the Kirk Cameron Show where we talk about faith, family, and the future of our culture. I’m not a pastor. I’m not a politician. I am a dad, and I’m a husband who wants to raise my family in a nation that stays free and honors God. And today’s episode is going to be another dangerous conversation with my son James where we talk about some things that others are afraid to say out loud.
Things about faith, about family, and about culture with that classic father-son twist. James, what are we talking about today? All right. Today we’re going to be talking about the question, why do bad things happen to good people? And I want to start off with just this video that I saw from Joe Rogan podcast. Why did God create war? Why does God create murder? Why does God create all the the horrific things we see in the news, school shootings? What why would God create a mind that acts in that way? Good questions.
Really difficult questions. Yeah. So watching this just made me ask myself and kind of have to look at my own life and say, why can’t I do what’s right before God? And why can I be obedient to him and do all of the right things, but the pain keeps coming and the hurt keeps hitting and my heart keeps aching and my mind is still not at rest? Has there ever been a time in your life where you felt that you needed God and felt like he was distant or not listening or there? Yes, I think there are times like that in in everyone’s life. I’ve felt that
way myself in personal relationships. Um, you know, James, we’ve we think of Camp Firefly where moms and dads are crying out to God. I’m having a a cigar and a burger around a campfire with six dads who have tears in their eyes because as fathers, we want to fix things. We want to put out fires and they cannot make the cancer go away.
