If you look at your life and you realize that the only type of love that I show is either passive love because I donate money and I don’t have to really deal with it or love to people that love me back. I think you got to read the gospels again because that’s not what Jesus taught.
That’s not what Jesus did and that’s not what Jesus commands us to do. What does Jesus mean when he says, “What you do to the least of these, you do unto me.” Do we fully understand that verse? That’s what we’re going to be talking about today. But before we get started, make sure to like, subscribe, hit the notification bell so you never miss an episode.
Dad, I love this, James, because Jesus was never about being big and flashy. He was never about exalting himself. He was all about being small and humble. and he would say, “Unless you become like a little child.” And then here he’s saying that as you do to the least of these, you’re you’re doing it to me.
So, I’m I’m I’m excited to see what you have for this. >> Yeah. And I I think just understanding this topic and this passage better and just having dialogue about it >> actually affects how we live and how we treat people. And I think there’s a lot to be said about it and some underlying things within it that are important for us to examine our own lives and our own behaviors.
And uh yeah, I just think it’s interesting. >> I I think that’s so true because so many of us go through our days and we want to have a great story to share with other people like, “Oh, you’re never going to believe where I went this weekend or who I saw last week. Uh what’s new? Oh, I got to tell you, did I tell you about when this happened?” And these big, dramatic, exciting Instagram events are what we look for.
But I wonder if Jesus is actually present in the everyday teeny small events that take place when no one’s watching to the outcasts and the people that nobody else recognizes. >> Yeah. Yeah. Well, I think a good way to start this is just by reading the passage itself in its entirety. I don’t want to like we we’re not going to go through all of Matthew, but we’re going to go through Matthew 25:34-4.
