Whatever God Commands

The sermon “Whatever God Commands” provides profound insight into achieving spiritual and collective power by prioritizing unity and absolute surrender to God’s will. Drawing primarily from Psalm 133, the message asserts that God commands the ultimate blessing—even life forevermore—in the specific environment created by unified believers.

This summary outlines the critical factors—from understanding the nature of unity to leveraging the power of praise—required to step into a life where God’s commands are sovereign.

The Mandate of Surrender: “Whatever God Commands”

The central tenet of the message is total surrender: “Whatever God commands”. This surrender requires giving up one’s own plans or ideas to remain open to God’s sovereign direction. When God commands something, that is what will happen in one’s life, regardless of external opinions, sabotage attempts, or unfavorable medical diagnoses. Contentment is found in knowing that one’s future is God’s business.

This foundational submission enables the realization that God’s Word (Rhema) is not just an idea (Logos) but a transformative force capable of shaping and molding the believer.

The Power of Unity

The core scriptural foundation emphasizes the goodness and pleasantness of brethren dwelling together in unity. The sermon argues that achieving unity is essential yet difficult, often because critics and attacks arise even from those who are “kin” or connected (like fellow preachers or family).

Unity vs. Conformity

Unity must not be confused with conformity. Conformity is seeking unity only when one wins the argument or forces others to accept their side. True unity demands individual sacrifice and a willingness to give up one’s individuality or personal preferences for the greater good of connectivity.

The spiritual danger of prioritizing one’s ego or opinion over connectivity leads to the potential loss of a miracle. When being “right” becomes more important than surviving, unity is sacrificed.

The Consequences of Disunity

Isolation is identified as a deadly condition, even more dangerous than cigarettes. Modern society, including children isolated with technology, struggles to learn how to resolve conflict or have healthy disputes, resulting in an inability to achieve unity.

The Spirit of God views unity as an utmost passion. The absence of unity is linked to the spirit of division and witchcraft, which Satan uses to distract, worry, and divide believers. The enemy fears unity because unified people are capable of achieving anything, making the impossible possible (as seen in the biblical example of Nimrod’s unified effort to build the tower toward heaven). Unity has the power to drive away diabetes, cancer, and demonic forces.

Building Unity

Building unity requires active effort: fighting for it, working on it, being quiet, biting one’s tongue, and sometimes saying yes to something one normally wouldn’t. The strength of unity is so immense that even if just two or three people agree and align themselves, they can perform anything.

The pursuit of unity requires humility—being humble enough to consider the possibility of being wrong in one’s handling or opinions.
