Well, friends, listen. The world is saying a lot, but what is it saying? Listen, we’re going to talk about what the world cannot say. How about that? Everybody’s got something to say, but are they really saying something that matters? So, we live in a world right now that is increasingly Antichrist. Fundamentally, it’s going against Christ in every area.
And so, First John teaches us that the spirit of the Antichrist [music] is something that exists in the world around us. And frankly, it has been from the beginning. There is the spirit of antichrist. And of course, the Bible tells us that the term antichrist often will refer uh to the very figure, the man, the person that is coming into the world to deceive the world. The Bible makes it clear.
Book of Daniel tells you, for example, that he’s going to do that through political intrigue. He’s going to promise peace and prosperity. You know, all the stuff that politicians do. And beyond that, there is also the spirit of the antichrist that is active in our world today that you and I have to deal with all the time.
Just people who hate God, frankly, and hate you perhaps. False prophets out there to deceive. Rebellion being lifted up and obedience to God in love for God being mocked and made fun of. That is all the spirit of the Antichrist. And um that is something that is going to continue to invade [music] our world.
But God has not left us alone, folks. We’ve got the power of the Holy Spirit and the word of God. And those influences by this spirit of Antichrist in the world is something that shouldn’t surprise us. But as believers, John 15:E 19 tells us that we are not of this world. Hallelujah. We’re not of this world.
