Well, listen. According to the Bible, we are to not only walk with Jesus as we talk, but we are to have those two things in perfect sync, in perfect harmony. Walking and talking all the way to heaven is God’s will for your life. And that means that we are in the word of God, but we’re doing the word of God.

You know, the book of James tells us that we need to be careful that we’re not only hearers of the word of God, but doers of the word. So today we’re going to be in the book of Romans and we’re going to be finding out the difference between walking and talking versus walking and talking together. They go together all the way to heaven.

So let’s grab our Bibles and let’s dive into this study from the book of Romans. There’s a real problem in our perception or understanding of what is a follower of Jesus Christ in the day and the age in which we live in. And I want you to know it’s not a stretch for us to understand that it’s God’s will that you and I walk in such a way and talk in such a way that we have the opportunity to show the world that we are really followers of Jesus.

And if that’s the truth, then we we will be attractive to people. People will want to know who’s your God and what makes you tick. What are you living for? You seem to be kind of um shielded from the strangeness of this world. What’s with you? You seem to have peace in the midst of a storm. And God will open up those doors because that’s where Jesus is walking.

And if we’re walking with him, and if we’re talking with him, great things will happen. I expect it. Because we’re walking and talking in route to heaven, we are to be the people that we are now in Christ. You want to ask yourself that question in point number one. So be who you are now.

That immediately demands this question of us for all of us to ask this of ourselves. How do you know that you’re a believer? Is it a tradition? Were your parents believers? Is it because what your wife’s a believer or your husband is? What is the reason as to why you are a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ? I promise you this, it cannot be handed down genetically.
