Trump, Moses, & The Mystery Of The Hostage Release
The liberation of hostages held by Hamas in Gaza, concluding two harrowing years of captivity and darkness, occurred on a day of profound spiritual and prophetic significance. On Monday, October 13, 2025, 20 hostages were released to the embrace of their families, with 28 more loved ones finally coming home to rest. This momentous event, which brought an end to two years of unceasing war and danger, was not accidental; rather, it was ordained and appointed over 3,000 years ago through Moses.
The fulfillment of these hopes converged with ancient prophetic realities that often align with events around the autumn months of September and October, particularly for Israel. The timing of the ceasefire and the acceptance of the peace plan by Israel and Hamas was orchestrated by a mystery, even involving an unexpected figure like President Trump.
The Starting Point: Desecration on a Holy Day (H2)
The tragic invasion, massacre of Israeli civilians, and mass hostage-taking by Hamas began precisely two years earlier, on October 7, 2023. This calamity occurred on an ancient Hebrew holy day.
- The Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot): The attack took place at the culmination of the greatest appointed feast given by God: Sukkot, the Feast of Dwellings or Feast of Booths.
- The Enemy’s Action: The ultimate enemy, symbolically referred to as the Serpent or the Dragon (Hassatan, or Satan), wars against God and against Israel. This enemy took the things of God—a time of celebration and joy—and turned it into a day of bloodshed and mourning, desecrating the holy day. The music festival decimated by Hamas was even named the Nova Sukkot festival.
The Day of Completion: Hosana Rabba (H2)
The two-year period of captivity, which began on a holy day, came to its conclusion on a holy day. October 13, 2025, corresponded to the 21st day of the Hebrew month Tishrei on God’s sacred calendar.
Tishrei 21 is a unique day known as Hosana Rabba, which is the seventh and last day of the Feast of Tabernacles.
The Meaning of Seven and Completion (H3)
Hosana Rabba is the seventh day of a seven-day feast, occurring in the seventh month, signifying the Biblical number of completion.
- Ending the Captivity: God caused the two-year captivity of the hostages to reach its completion and end on this appointed day—the day of completion in the feast of completion.
- The Great Salvation: The name “Hosana Rabba” means “The Great Hosana”. “Hosana” itself is derived from the word meaning “Lord save us” or “bring us salvation” (found in Psalm 118). For two years, the hostages and people worldwide prayed “Lord save us”. God answered these prayers by bringing the hostages back, saving them from captivity on the day known as the Lord’s saving (Hosana Rabba).
- Justice and Judgment: Hosana Rabba is also known in Jewish history as a day of judgment. The leaders of the Nazi Third Reich were executed on October 16, 1946, which was Hosana Rabba. The release of the hostages on October 13, 2025, marked a judgment and justice granted for Israel.
The Messianic Connection (H3)
Hosana Rabba is one of the few exact holy days specifically mentioned in the Gospels. The Gospel of John (Chapter 7) records that Jesus (Yeshua) celebrated the Feast of Tabernacles. On “the last day, the great day of the feast”—which is Hosana Rabba—Jesus stood up and called out to the people.
The Trumpet Sounded in Jerusalem (H2)
The timing of the release also holds a significant connection to the concept of the trumpet. In old English, “trumpet” is also called the “trump”.
- The Commandment: In the Torah (Numbers 10:10), it is commanded that on the “day of your gladness,” during appointed times like Tabernacles, the trumpet shall be sounded.
- The Fulfillment: On October 13th (Hosana Rabba), the “trump sounded in Jerusalem”. President Trump’s peace plan was accepted, and his proclamation was made in the Israeli parliament building. He proclaimed the work of God and gave thanks to the “almighty God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob”. This fulfillment occurred precisely where the trumpet was historically commanded to sound on Hosana Rabba.
The Day of New Beginnings: Shmini Atzeret (H2)
The significance of the release day is further amplified by the transition that occurred at sundown. When the sun set on Monday, October 13th, it marked the beginning of Shmini Atzeret (the gathering of the eighth day), which is the very last day of God’s entire sacred calendar (Leviticus 23).
- The Symmetry of the Calendar: The entire event, spanning two years, began on a Hebrew holy day and came to its consummation on the exact same Hebrew holy day—Shmini Atzeret.
- The Restoration of Joy: Shmini Atzeret is also celebrated in Israel as Simchat Torah (a day of joy and rejoicing in the word of God). Two years prior, the enemy took away Israel’s joy on that day; now, God moved on the same day to give Israel back its joy.
- New Beginnings: Shmini Atzeret is the eighth day, and eight is the biblical number of new beginnings.
The Ultimate Center: The Temple Mount (H2)
Behind everything that happened over the two years, from the initial massacre to the global rage against Israel, lay a cosmic war focused on the Temple Mount.
- Prophetic Focus: The Temple Mount is the coming prophetic center of prophecy, where the Temple is to be rebuilt and the Messiah is destined to reign.
- The Enemy’s Target: The Dragon (Satan) wars to keep control of that mount and prevent Jewish people from celebrating the appointed days of God there. Hamas themselves named their invasion and massacre operation after the Temple Mount, striking on the appointed day when Israel was to recite ancient scripture about the Temple.
- God’s Purpose: Events will continue to revolve around that mountain because God’s purposes will ultimately be fulfilled on that sacred soil.
