The Love Dare Day 14: Love takes delight

  • because it speaks of the faithfulness of God. And I’m so [clears throat] grateful that that that God has made us covenant promises that he’ll never leave us and he’ll never forsake us when we’ve been adopted into his family [music] by faith. It’s one thing to be part of a family and to be born into a natural family, but to be born again and into God’s family by faith is an altogether entirely more radical experience.
  • The first the first time you were born is radical. You know, you you weren’t breathing, then all of a sudden you were breathing. and and and and God speaks in the scriptures of being born again, being born of the spirit of God. And you go from death to life. You go from being spiritually disconnected from God to to being vitally connected to the almighty, the the source of life and he begins to flow through you and he’s faithful to his children.
  • And I’m so thankful for that. Hey, let’s pray together uh before we jump into the next day of the love daring and ask for the faithful God of the universe to be with us. Dear God, we’re so thankful for for your faithfulness, Lord. We want to be full of faith. We want to be faithful to you and faithful to one another.
  • But so often, Lord, we’re faithless. We’re full of doubting and and and and if we let doubt take root, it leads to despair. And Lord, we know that that you’ll never leave us. You’ll never forsake us. You’ve made sacred promises to your people just like you made to to your to your own nation of Israel. You made that promise that you’d never leave them.
  • And and and now we’re grafted into that sacred promise by faith. And now every nation and every tribe and every tongue and every color and gender and race and and and and every background gets to be brother and sister with you as our father. And we’re so thankful that you’re a faithful father. Lord, you even say that you you delight in those who love you and who fear you.
  • And God, help us to delight in knowing that you’re faithful to us and to learn how to delight in one another and be faithful toward one another. And we ask this in the precious name of Jesus. Amen. Well, hey, uh, those of you who are watching on Instagram right now, I’ve, uh, set up another phone in my backyard as part of the American Campfire Revival, and I’m actually looking back and forth between YouTube and Facebook and Instagram right now.
  • So, I’m hoping that this works for everybody. I’m pretty excited about it. Um, we have been meeting in the backyard now for 15 days. Today is day, I’m sorry, day 14 as we go through the love dare. So, for those of you who are brand new to this on Instagram, we’ve been going through that book that was in the movie Fireproof that led to a transformation of the firefighter’s heart, led him to God, and then once he got his heart right with God, he could begin to win back the heart of his wife.
  • And we understand that. I understand that if I want God to heal our nation, first I’ve got to ask God to heal my heart so that I can heal my marriage because we’ll never have healthy nations if we don’t have healthy families. And we’re not going to have healthy families if we don’t have healthy marriages. And so it starts at home. It starts in the heart.
