The Jeremiah Promise For Your Life
-
The word of God comes to him in prison just as it came to Paul in prison, came to Peter in prison. The word of God is not bound not from getting out of prison or not getting into prison. And there’s no prison wall strong enough to keep the word of God. Even when you feel like you’re in a prison or in a dark place cut off from God, God will still speak.
-
Listen, especially then, God will speak. [Music] But I said, Lord, what’s what what’s your plan here? I I gave up my job and here I am. What’s your plan? And that’s when the Lord gave me a word way back at the beginning time of few people, small beginnings. And I shared that word to the congregation.
-
I believe it was the third night that I ever shared as as the pastor, the third Friday, the third message I ever shared. and it would sum up everything that had been and also everything that was going to take place. And it’s one of the words that I received this year for you and for actually when I was in Florida, I received that as well for this year.
-
And it is this. Call to me and I will answer you and I will show you great and mighty things you know not of. 2020 everything the Lord had done in my life was already beyond anything I had known or imagined. And he gave me that word when there was 30 people before everything was going to happen that he knew from the beginning long before.
-
And I got it again now. Now, you heard I just mentioned it last week, but I want to open it up now to see what’s really there because you may hear this and not know what’s really there. The context, first of all, is Jeremiah. The word of the Lord, verse one, Jeremiah 33:1, then the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah the second time while he was still confined in the court of the guard.
-
And then it goes the context is Jeremiah the prophet is in prison in effect in prison. The Hebrew word atsar means shut up confined enclosed restrained. Why is he in prison? Because he is preaching the truth to his nation. To a people who don’t want to hear the truth. He’s preaching against their sin and he’s telling them judgment is coming. They don’t want to hear it.
-
The king doesn’t want to hear it. He’s an evil king. He puts they put him in prison. Now he could be very discouraged at that point. Nobody’s listening to his message. He’s been preaching, not really seeing the fruit he wanted to see. And now he’s in prison. And then the word of God comes to him in prison, just as it came to Paul in prison, came to Peter in prison, the word of God is not bound, not from getting out of prison or not getting into prison.
-
And there’s no prison wall strong enough to keep the word of God. Even when you feel like you’re in a prison or in a dark place, cut off from God, God will still speak. Listen. Especially then, God will speak. This all came in prison. Much of the Bible, think about it, came in prison. The letters of Paul, so many of them in prison.
-
And that’s when the Lord gives the word. And the word starts out, thus says the Lord who made the earth. The Lord who formed it to establish it. The Lord is his name. First of all, he’s telling Jeremiah, “I’m in charge. Jeremiah, I’m still in charge. Even though you’re in prison, I’m still in charge. I’m the one. I’m still on the throne. It’s not It’s not Jeaniah.
-
It’s not the evil king. I’m on the throne and not the problem. I’m on the throne. So remember that. And then it comes a word to encourage his servant. God is the God of all encouragement. And it begins, “Call to me.” God wants Jeremiah to call to him. God is calling to Jeremiah and telling him, “Call to me.
-
” Why? God wants him to seek. God wants us to seek him. There’s something about seeking him that is so important that God says it here because if you stop seeking him, you don’t get what the promise is. There’s a promise here based on seeking him. Amen. The word in Hebrew is kor. Try it. Kuran not only means call to me, it means cry out like like from your gut. Cry out.
-
Be it to be mean it from your all your heart. Seek me. Call to me. You got to mean it. When you seek God, seek from all your heart. But it also means it also means invite God. Invoke invite God. God is telling Jeremiah and you he wants you to invite him. He will come, but you have to invite him.
