Hey, welcome to The Connected family. And I am like really sincerely, personally glad that you’re taking a step of faith out of your comfort zone to learn how to navigate the complicated world of technology because we’ve done this in our home, and it’s not easy. We don’t know how to get it right.
And so we’re learning together, and we’re gonna do just that. We’re gonna spend the next couple of hours exploring how do you, like, reset our relationship with screens, and phones, and fun. And so the great news is you’re gonna hear from two amazing people, Ally Evans and David Eaton. First, Ally is like one of my favorite people in the world.
She’s discipled students in LifeKids and Switch for over 20 years. So, all six of our kids came up under her leadership. And the fact that they’re all married and serving Jesus in the church is a direct reflection of Ally’s leadership. So Ally, we love you and we thank God for you. And David is a fascinating and brilliant leader.
He’s the CEO and founder of axis.org. And he helps parents like us have faith-based conversations with their teenagers. In fact, he has a email that comes out every week called the Culture Translator. And I read it, and that helps me understand what’s going on in the world. – Good recommendation, the Culture Translator.
You know, parenting is hard, even grand parenting now in our stage. And we didn’t all get it all right with the digital age that our kids started growing up in. And I know that that’s why you’re here because you wanna grow in this. All the questions, when do we get our kids a phone? Do they get a phone? What apps would they be okay to have? When can they have social media, if at all? How are we gonna set boundaries without being that overly controlling parent? There’s so much and you can feel overwhelmed by it.
