take a look at the purpose of the spiritual gifts in 1 Corinthians CH 12 we continue by reading verse number four there are different kinds of spiritual gifts but the same spirit is the source of them all there are different kinds of service but we serve the same Lord God works in different ways but it is the same God who does the work in all of us a spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other now notice here the subtle illusion to the Trinity different kinds of spiritual gifts but the Same Spirit different kinds of

service we serve the same Lord God works in different ways Spirit Lord God Spirit son father that’s an illusion to the Trinity they in unity decided what gift to give to you we in unity are to use the spiritual gifts so Unity is very key when it comes to the purpose of the spiritual gifts let’s jump down to verse 18 of 1 Cor Ians 12 for example we read but our bodies have many parts and God has put each part just where he wants it how strange a body would be if it only had one part yes there are many parts but only one body the eye can never say

to the hand I don’t need you the head can’t say to the feet I don’t need you in fact some parts of the body that seem weakest and least important are actually the most necessary so just like a physical body the body of Christ has different organs different body parts that ultimately work together to serve a purpose and of course we understand that Christ is the head so the gifts are to be used in the context of unity now let’s take a look at 1 Corinthians chapter 12 again verse number 7 here we see a very important phrase a spiritual

gift is given to each of us so that we can help each other so verse S gives us right there the purpose of the spiritual gifts the spiritual gifts are not for stab St they’re not for show they’re for service they’re not to elevate one member of the body higher than the other remember all of us are just as important as each other and we all work together in unity and so the purpose of the gifts is to serve one another in unity edifying one another building one another up encouraging one another and of course the Lord Works through these
