Hey everybody, welcome to the Kirk Cameron Show. I’m excited. My son James and I are are ready for another dangerous conversation. What are we talking about today, James? All right, today we’re going to switch it up a little bit and we’re going to be watching a bunch of Tik Toks of cringey Christians and see what we think about them.
Okay, I’m very interested in videos about cringey Christianity. I’m wondering if you’re going to show some videos of me. I I’m not sure. Why are you interested in this topic? Well, so I I’ve just been researching all of these different topics that we’ve been doing, and I’ve come across a lot of videos that are faith-based videos that have just gave me the ick.
It’s just made me like, “Oh, that’s rough.” Yeah. and I came across so many that I thought it was appropriate for me to bring them on to the show so that we can just discuss it and see. This is really good cuz you know maybe what we are going to be modeling here is discernment. What makes it ick? What makes it cringy or are we just being judgmental about these brothers and sisters in the Lord? All right, before I roll the video, I want to read something to you guys.
It’s the sermon on the mount. uh one of the most famous passages in the Bible. And we’ll start off. It just says, “Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your father in heaven.” Then it goes on to talk about prayer. And it says, “When you pray, do not be like the hypocrites who love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others.
