Reclaiming the Power of the Holy Spirit in Your Life

• We’re going to turn to 2 Kings chapter 6. 2 Kings chapter 6 verse one. Scripture says, “The sons of the prophets said to Elisha, please notice that the place where we live under your supervision is too small for us. Please let us go to the Jordan where we can each get a log and can build ourselves a place to go and live there.” “Go,” he said.
• Then one said, “Please come with your servants.” “I’ll come,” he answered. So he went with them. And when they came to the Jordan, they cut down trees. As one of them was cutting down a tree, the iron axe head fell into the water, and he cried out, “Oh, my master, it was borrowed.
• ” Then the man of God asked, “Where did it fall?” When he showed him the place, the man of God cut a piece of wood, threw it there, and made the iron float. Then he said, “Pick it up.” So he reached out and took it. So this is the word of the Lord. And here we are in a dark time.
• And it seems interesting saying that particularly in light of what’s happening in the world, but this was a a very dark time in Israel’s history. This was a time when uh you know e Israel was under uh foreign occupation. And I’m telling you, there was it was a very very dark time. What had happened is Elijah, who was obviously Elisha’s mentor, had begun during those difficult times, had begun training up the next generation.
• Sometimes the best thing you could do when it seems like nothing is happening around you and things are dark, it’s beginning to sew into the next generation, beginning to think generationally, beginning to think about the future. So he started what was called the schools of the prophets and they were in Gal Gilgal. Um there was the three that he had in Bethl and in Jericho. Hey friends, it’s Chris here.
