And um this podcast is one that is going to be something that you and I actually encounter all the time, way more than you might think.
  • And I’m going to be talking today about what is technically really found in the book of Exodus chapter 20. And it is uh the ten commandments. But a a very particular commandment. Let me explain. There are so many people today especially uh on their social media uh posts, their social media presence that um are literally not only incriminating themselves.
  • I’ll explain in this podcast, but they’re actually um creating an environment whereby they’re damaging the witness of Christ, the witness of the gospel, and what it is to be a uh bibleelving, God-loving, God-woriing follower of Christ, a disciple of Jesus. You see, Jack, what in the world are you talking about? Uh listen, the third commandment says, “You shall not take the name of the Lord in vain.
  • ” We’ve all heard this before, right? Uh for the Lord your God will not hold him guiltless who makes his name or takes his name, I should say, in vain. You shall not take the name of the Lord in vain. The Lord will not hold you guiltless if you take his name in vain. What does it mean to take his name in vain? Well, first of all, the word vain uh in in English simply means um in the area of pride and arrogance, it can mean that the word has multiple meanings.
