You’re watching KCMI TV, and we pray that God’s blessing is upon His word today. I want to share something I’m constantly seeking and believe is crucial in our lives: understanding the will of God. This message is drawn from Colossians chapter 1. Let’s begin with verse 9, which says:

“For this reason, we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding.”

Paul is writing to the Colossians and expressing his prayer and desire that they be filled with the knowledge of God’s will, enriched by wisdom and spiritual understanding. In verse 10, he continues:

“…that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.”

Paul emphasizes that being filled with the knowledge of God’s will enables us to walk in a way that pleases God, leading to fruitful lives in every good work. Isn’t it incredible to think that God could look at your life every day and say, “I am pleased with them”? Being filled with God’s will makes it possible to live in a way that brings His pleasure.

Over the years, many of us, as Christians, naturally desire to align our actions with our abilities and passions within God’s kingdom. For instance, if someone is a skilled singer, they may gravitate toward opportunities in God’s work related to music. However, I’ve found that sometimes what we desire to be God’s will and what His will truly is can be vastly different. After many years of serving the Lord, I’ve realized that it’s no longer about whether God’s will fits my personal desires, but about simply knowing I’m in His will.
