You’re watching KCMI TV, and I appreciate you joining me today. I’d like to pick up from where we left off last week, where I was discussing the importance of having the mind of Christ. It’s only in the last 24 hours that God really placed on my heart what I want to talk about today. The quality of our lives as believers is largely determined by how we think. There’s a verse that says, “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.”

I want to read from Hebrews 12:2, which says, “Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.” Let me pause there for a moment. We all believe that Jesus Christ saved us and delivered us, and He is the author of our faith. But the Bible is clear: God is also the finisher. If we stay in covenant with the Lord, He will finish what He started. We must believe that. It says that Jesus is the example for us to follow, and “for the joy that was set before Him, He endured the cross, despising the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” This verse refers to the sacrifice of Calvary.

In 1 Corinthians 2:16, it says, “Who has known the mind of God, and who can instruct Him?” But Paul concludes by saying, “We have the mind of Christ.” This is why I’m sharing Hebrews 12:2, because it offers insight into the mind of Christ. This podcast began with the idea that, too often, we allow our past to define our future. A thought that came to my mind recently was, “Unbelief declares that your future will be like your past.” When we go through difficult times, we often feel like the present circumstances will define our future, but that’s where unbelief takes over.
