Peace, Rest, and Trust in the Lord
-
You’re watching KCMI TV. >> The last few days, something been rolling over in my spirit and uh I God began to talk to me about uh this trust, but added to it. So, I want to start off talking about peace and then we’re going to talk about rest. And then we’re going to talk about trust. Obviously, um, most people in the world, if you would ask them what what does humanity need in the earth today, um, they would say peace.
-
And um I I think of the scripture that says that when the angels came to announce the Lord Jesus Christ, they said this, “Peace on earth now.” Um and goodwill towards men. And so uh I wrote this down because I think it’s very true. Peace is not the absence of conflict. I think that many times we feel like well if there’s peace then there’s nothing going on.

Peace is not the absence of conflict. This is what I think peace is. It’s the confidence that the conflict cannot overcome you but you will overcome the conflict. There’s there’s a scripture that in the biatitudes uh Jesus is talking and he doesn’t say blessed are the peacekeepers. He said blessed are the peace makers. And so um Jesus said this.
-
He said I am the prince of peace. And um I wanted to just read out of the gospel of John. Uh this is the 16th chapter in um verse 33. Jesus said this. He said these things I have spoken unto you that in me you might have peace. In the world you’re going to have tribulation. Remember I just told you that peace is not the absence of conflict.

And a lot of times we think that well the only way I can have peace is everything is in an optimum setting. That’s not what the Lord’s saying here. He says he said I want you to have peace but he said you’re going to only have it through me because in the world and we live in the world. Bible says we’re in the world but we’re not of the world.
