” He said, “Casting all your care upon him for he carth for you.” And uh the word cares here literally means worries, anxieties and concerns. I think there’s one verse maybe John chapter 16. Uh there’s a verse that says this in this world you are going to have tribulation. Jesus was talking here and he said in this world you are going to have tribulation.
-
He said but be of good cheer. He said, “I’ve already overcome the world.” When when you got saved, uh the battle started. The sinners do not fight what we fight. We are fighting demonic assault because we are we’re in the world, but we’re not of the world. So Jesus here, he said this in this world where you’re going to have tribulation.
-
And so as as believers, uh there are things that you and I because we’re human beings that we are going to have to deal with every day. The cares of life. And the Lord very plainly here, he says, “You’re going to have to cast all your care upon me, for I careth for you.” And and the word carth here literally means that he’s concerned and that he has an interest in you.
-
And so you and I are not designed by God to carry our own worries and our own anxieties. U depression is at an all-time high in America. And I think it’s in the ESV there’s a verse that says this, anxiety causes depression. And we are not built, we are not designed to be able to carry our own worries, our own concerns and things that would make us anxious.
-
One verse says this, it says, “Be anxious for nothing.” And in Psalms 55 and verse 22 says this, “Cast your burden upon the Lord and he shall sustain thee. He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.” And um one of the when I read to you out of first Peter where it says, “Casting all your care upon him for he cares for you.
