Green Leaves

  •  You’re watching KCMI TV. >> Amen. Well, thank you for joining me today. And um I think we have a a really great podcast and I’ll tell you how I kind of got on the uh thought of what we’re going to talk about today. Um, I had some shrubs at my house and they were on each side of my sidewalk and they had grown so much that um, they were blocking the path.
  • So, I got my hedge trimmer out and they’re they’re really really beautiful and had long shoots on them and uh, I got my hedge trimmer out and I felt bad about cutting such beautiful plants, but I needed to have this path cleared. And so I cut them off and uh it’s been really really hot here in Nashville.
  • And uh few days later I went outside where I had done the work and I noticed everything that I had cut off that had been so vibrantly green and so beautiful was laying on the sidewalk and it was all shriveled up and brown. It was bleached there was it was just dead. And as I looked at that, I remembered the scripture talking about um that our leaf shall not wither.
  • So I I put together some things here that I think that will bless you today. And I want to talk to you about green leaves. And I know it’s kind of a a strange subject, but it’s in the scripture, believe it or not. And um there are there are two um metaphors in the scripture that that reference leaves that I want to start with.
  • And um in Isaiah 1 and verse 30 it says, “For ye shall be as an oak whose leaf fadeth and as a garden that hath no water.” And so in in this sense uh the metaphor the scriptur is talking about that withered leaves are a type of judgment which end in death. And then I want to go to Psalms um chapter 1.
