Faith Comes By Hearing The Word

You’re watching KCMI TV. Well, I want to talk to you today about probably one of the most familiar scriptures uh in the New Testament, but um I want to just give you a different take on it, something to to think about and to chew on. This is out of Romans chapter uh 10 and verse 17.

And it says, “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” And I I think there’s three three key words here. One is cometh, one is hearing, and then the third is the word. So the other day I was just praying and uh this kind of rose up in my spirit. Of course, we all we all want faith and um it seems to be to some degree something that’s elusive.

Um you know, there’s there’s been many times I felt like I had the faith for something to happen and it didn’t. I prayed for a lot of people praying for people right now that I love very much that that God will intervene in their life whether it’s in healing or in relationships or finances. Um, but I I I obviously I know that the scripture is saying that faith comes by hearing the word of God, but I I want to give you something to think about.

Um, faith comes. So, um, I I think that for faith to to come, the Bible says it comes by hearing. And uh I know that the scriptures initially referring to the fact that uh we have faith when we hear the word of the Lord. But there’s another thought that you can look at here and it’s faith doesn’t show up until it hears the word of God.

And um in Romans or in Matthew chap 13 and 13 it says hearing they hear not neither do they understand so they don’t speak the word. So I I want to build off the foundation that it could be that faith hears and it’ll only come when it hears the word of God. So in Matthew he’s talking here. He said there are some people that they they have ears but they can’t hear.

And because they can’t hear they can’t they don’t understand. And when they don’t understand it says so they don’t speak the word. So, I I think that one of the keys to having faith is faith is never going to come into your life until it hears you speak the word of God. I had uh somebody come to me recently and um I had just really preached a faith message and they said, “I, you know, I’m just giving up.
