Don’t Lose Your Vision
-
You’re watching [music] KCMI TV. >> If you ask me uh in healthwise what I would dread to fear losing the most, I would say it’s my vision. Uh I obviously don’t want to be incapacitated but having sight is an amazing thing. It gives you such independence and allows you to to enjoy life because [clears throat] you can see.
-
So I want to take my my thought today from 1st Samuel chap 11. This leaped in my spirit when I read it. Verse uh one. And Nahash the Amorite came up and encamped against Jash Gilead. Simply if you read the translations, he was coming to make war. Wasn’t a friendly visitation. And the men of Jabash said unto Nahash the king, “Make a covenant with us, and we will serve thee.
-
” And Nahash the Amorite answered them. He said, “On this condition will I make a covenant with you that I may thrust out all of your right eyes.” So, I want to talk to you about vision. Uh, and in this setting, [clears throat] uh, King Nahash has come up against the Israelites and he’s he’s coming to conquer them.
-
And the men of Jabash said this. They said, “Look, you know, just make a covenant with us and we’ll serve you.” And he said, “Okay, I’ll tell you what.” He said, “If you will let me put out your right eye, then I won’t come against you in war.” And the reason for this was because in those days, their battles were natural battles. And when the men of Israel would go to war, they would hold [clears throat] their sword in their left hand and they would hold their shield in their right hand and or let’s let’s switch that.
-
They would hold their shield in their left hand and their sword in their right hand. And if they could put out their right eye, then the only eye left to see with was this was the eye that the shield covered. So they were basically blind because the shield is covering this eye and the right eye has been put out.

So what it does, it renders them ineffective in battle because they’ve lost their vision. I believe that one of the most effective tools that the devil has against believers in this hour is he takes away our vision, our ability to see in the spirit realm [clears throat] what God is doing. You say, well, you know, is it that important? It is because in Proverbs chapter 29 and verse 8, it says this, “Where there is no vision, God’s people perish.
