Overcoming What-If Thinking
-
We have to protect our minds from the myriad of messages that our world wants to put on us. And if we stay completely open to everything, not everything is good for us, right? The scripture talks about that, >> you know, um everything is permissible, but not everything is >> beneficial. >> Beneficial. Thank you for that word.
-
Um and so I think we have to put boundaries around our mind. We talked about the morning routine. That’s a boundary in and of itself. What am I going to put in my mind for the day? What am I going to put in my ears? >> What am I going to allow uh what am I going to allow me to speak to myself? >> Right? What am I going to allow other people to speak to me? >> Um and really deciding what that needs to to look like to be as healthy as possible because we know that our thoughts impact our feelings impact our behaviors. And so um and the thing we
-
have the control the most over is our thoughts um to direct those things. >> That’s so true because we I find myself maybe feeling like I don’t have a ton of feeling a ton of control over my feelings. But you what did you I wanted to go back to what you said our thoughts control our feelings and our feelings or was it impact our thoughts impact our feelings our feelings impact our behaviors.
-
Is that what you said >> and vice versa? It’s kind of like a little a cycle that keeps on going back to each other. Yeah. Right. And we have the least control over our feelings. Totally. They’re very automatic. Right. But we can with our mind, we can guide our feelings and we can guide our behavior. >> And it it does all work together.
