One Mission EVERY Christian Is Called to (But Many Ignore)
Good morning and welcome to the Kirk Cameron Show. Grab a cup of coffee, sit down, and let’s go through some things that will fill your heart with faith, gratitude, hope, love, and courage. What could be a greater honor, a higher calling than to be handpicked by God himself as a chosen instrument for the most important renewal project in the universe, the redemption and restoration of everything broken.
So today in the show, we’re going to dive into what this means for your life, for your family, and for the future of the world. And please make sure that you subscribe to this channel and tap the notification bell so that you never miss an episode. All right, let’s dive into scripture right here in God’s word. Matthew 28, starting with verse 16.
And this is the very last portion of recorded history with regard to Jesus and his disciples prior to him leaving them. In verse 16, we read, “Then the 11 disciples left for Galilee, going to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him, but some of them doubted.
” Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and disciple all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Teach these newly discipled nations to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this. I am with you always, even to the end of the age.
The command that Jesus gave to these 11 disciples, I believe, was not limited to them alone, not limited to the first century in Israel, although it had a very unique application there with those 11 at that time in that place. I think it is the mission that God has given to every believer of all time to go into the world and to publish the good news that the king has landed. Grace has arrived.
