“Morning Prayer: Wake Up and Trust God for Today”

  • Imagine [music] waking up every single morning and before you even touch your phone, before you even glance at the news, you look yourself in the mirror and say with conviction, “I can do this.” Now, I know that sounds simple, maybe even too simple, but let me tell you, simplicity is often where the deepest power lies. Think about this.
  • Each morning when God gives you breath, he’s also giving you an invitation. An invitation to believe in his strength working through you. An invitation to declare victory before the battles of the day even begin. Let me take you to Philippians 4:13 where Paul boldly says, “I can do all things through Christ which strengthenth me.
  • ” Do you realize the weight of those words? Paul wasn’t on vacation when he wrote that. He wasn’t sitting by the seaside sipping coconut water. He was in prison, shackled, limited, surrounded by gods. Yet he had the audacity to say, “I can do all things.” That is the very essence of what I’m talking about.
  • It is not about your circumstances. It is not about what you have or don’t have. It is about who strengthens you. Furthermore, when you wake up in the morning and declare, “I can do this,” you are not just talking to yourself. You are speaking into your spirit. You are speaking into your future. And you are also letting the enemy know, you may try me today, but you will not defeat me because the one who is in me is greater than the one who is in the world.
  • You see, mornings are not just ordinary. They are spiritual battleground. The first words you speak when you rise are like seeds planted into your day. [snorts] If you sow doubt, you will reap hesitation. If you sow fear, you will reap defeat. But if you sow faith, if you sow confidence, if you sow that declaration, I can do this through Christ who strengthens me, then your day is already under divine alignment.
  • In addition, let me give you a picture. Imagine two people. The first wakes up, sigh and says, “Oh no, another day. I don’t think I can handle this.” That person has already surrendered before the battle begins. The second wakes up, stretches and says, “Yes, another day and with Christ on my side, I can do this.
  • ” That person has already stepped into victory, not because life is easier, but because their perspective has shifted. Which one do you want to be? Moreover, think about this. Every giant that David faced, every trial Joseph endured, every storm the disciples encountered, they all had a moment where they had to decide, do I shrink back or do I step forward? And every step forward began with an inner declaration of faith.
  • David didn’t look at Goliath and say, “I’m not sure.” He looked at him and declared victory before the stone ever left the sling. He was saying, “I can do this.” Because he knew God was with him. So, as you sit here today, I want you to take a moment and whisper those four words to yourself. I can do this. Say it again louder this time.
