Hey, welcome to the Kirk Cameron Show and today we are going to have another dangerous conversation where we talk about the things that matter. I’m joined by my son James and we’re going to be answering a question that has stirred up hearts for generations. Is love an emotion, a feeling, or a choice? So, buckle up because this just might challenge everything that you thought you knew.
And if you haven’t yet, please subscribe to the Kirk Cameron Show and tap the bell so you never miss a single episode of Truth. James, take it away. >> All right, the question that we have today is, is love something you feel or something that you do? What has your love journey been with mom? Mom and I have been living out our love story for 35 years now. And it it deepens.
It changes. It’s a school where you learn how to die to yourself. Emotions change. Feelings change. Circumstances change. And I I think love is the greatest of all things. We all hope for it. We all dream about it. And it’s also can be the most painful things. The best songs are either about a heart that is been um you know united in love with somebody else or it’s been broken by love.
>> Uh I think few things are more powerful than it. >> Yeah. I think it’s important that when we’re talking about love, we should understand the different types of love and what they mean. So I kind of looked into it and I found that there’s four different types of love. Lay it on me. There’s aeros love which is romantic.
>> I love about that one. >> Which is romantic and passionate love. And then there’s filea or fileo love which is brotherly love. >> Yeah. Like relationship, friendship. >> Yeah. >> And then there’s sto love which is familial love. Like I love my siblings. >> Okay. Are these Greek words? Are these >> They’re all Greek.
Yeah, >> these are Greek words. Okay. I didn’t know Greek or Latin. >> Yep. And then there’s agape love which is selfless and unconditional love. >> Wow. There’s all different kinds of love. But that makes sense because like I love you. You’re my son, right? But that’s a totally different kind of love than I have for um strong coffee in the morning. Uh you know, or a steak.
