Living the Rest Life – Sunday Service

  • Right. Well, you know, pastor has been ministering about we are the branches and that he is the he is the vine. And in 1 Chronicles 29, uh if you all will stick that scripture up, 1 Chronicles 29. Praise God. There we go. All right. 1st Chronicles 29, we understand that Jesus is the vine or God is the vine and that everything that we have flows from him.
  • Even the development of the branch came from the vine. So if there is no vine, there’s no branch. If there’s no vine, there’s no fruit on the branch. If there’s no vine, which is the origin of us, then we have no existence. Everything comes from the vine. And I believe David realized that as he spoke this in 1 Chronicles 29, and we’re going to read starting in verse 9.
  • He says, “Then the people rejoiced for that they offered willingly because with perfect heart they offered willingly to the Lord. And David the king also rejoiced with great joy. Wherefore David blessed the Lord before all the congregation and the people said, “Blessed be thou, oh Lord God of Israel our father, forever and forever.
  • Thine, O Lord, is the greatness.” Notice how that starts out. Thine, it’s yours, God. what we’re able even to give to you. We first of all stop and we acknowledge that you are the great one by which we are able to give. Thine, oh Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty for all that is in thy in the heavens and in the earth is thine.
  • He said in the heavens and in the earth. We’re not in heaven yet. Well, we are spiritually, but down here on the earth, he’s saying, even everything down here on the earth is yours. He says, “For thine is the kingdom, O Lord, and thou art exalted as head above all.” He’s divine. He’s divine. Both riches and honors come of thee.
  • He’s divine. He’s divine. And thou reignth over all. And in your hand, oh God, is power and might. You’re the vine. You’re the vine, oh God. And in your hand it is to make great and to give strength unto all. He’s the vine. Now therefore, our God, we thank thee and praise thy glorious name. But who am I? And what is my people? This what David was saying.
  • or who are we and what are we oh God that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort David understood even back then before Jesus quoted vine and branch David understood he’s a vine we’re the branch nothing comes on the branches except through the vine but who am I oh God and what is my people that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort for all things. Say all things.
