A Biblical Foundation of Worship

  • Jesus, I was so struck by what Brooke just said that how kind you are to give us a glimpse of your glory. Lord, thank you for that promise. Uh not just the one that says you’ll reveal yourself to us if we seek you with all our heart, but the one in Isaiah where it says, “So great is your compassion for your people, that you reveal yourself even to those who aren’t yet searching for you.
  • ” Lord, thank you that you do pursue us. Thank you that you condescend to be close to us. Lord, forgive me when I pray for more of you instead of leaning into what you’ve already revealed, what you’ve already lavished on me. Jesus, if you don’t make the veil any thinner, it’s been enough. You are so kind, so good, so glorious, so holy, so compassionate. Thank you.
  • Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you, Jesus. Jesus. Jesus. We audaciously pray that you would give us the proclamation that you gave David, that we would actually see you tonight, that we’d leave tonight and go, I saw him. I saw him in the sanctuary. I saw him. I could see his hands and his feet. I saw Jesus. Thank you.
  • Thank you. Thank you. Thank you, Jesus. King Jesus, the Christ, the anointed one, the alpha and the omega, the rose of Sharon, the bright morning star, the one who sticks closer than a brother, lover of our soul, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus. Peel back any barrier that we still have between us and you.
  • take the scales from our eyes and our ears and our hearts so that we would know what it is to be held by you like John did. And yet still just so undone by your glory that we fall as though dead. Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, lion and lamb, we love you. We need you. We can’t make it by ourselves. We ask all these things according to the power and authority of your name.
