LIFT Daily Prayer: Surely the Lord Is in This Place | December 27, 2025
-
you guys. December 27th. Thank you, Lee or James. Great sound. All right. Good. God bless you guys. Day 361. Amazing. Day 361. Uh we’ve got four days together and I’ve just been blessed by all of you. Thank you for praying and I pray that God has been blessing you in these these last 12 months almost uh that we’ve completed together. Genesis chapter 28.
-
Genesis 28:1 16. I love this verse. Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, “Surely the Lord is in this place and I did not know it.” Genesis 28:16 Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, “Surely or certainly or absolutely or surprisingly the Lord is in this place and I did not know it.” Jacob was a man who was strong willed and that willed will had to be broken.
-
Jacob was a man of strong opinion and that had to be broken. Jacob was a man who would have been a man’s man. He was a man that nobody told him what to do. He was a man stubborn. He was a man that was uh really bright. He was in the world. Jacob would have been having his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
-
He would have had his face, you know, maybe on billboards and he would have won all the awards because humanly speaking, Jacob was the man. But when it came to God, all of that had to go away. And in our lives, all of that still has to go away. And it doesn’t go away. The self doesn’t stop. And it doesn’t stay stopped unless we are living and thinking, conducting ourselves in our thoughts.
-
And of course, our thoughts will dictate our actions. Um, am I in charge? Am I in control? Am I pulling this off on my own? Or I can do this? I’ve done, you know, done lesser things in life. I can do this. No. All that’s got to stop. And as we come to the year’s end, it’s very appropriate that for you and I that we stop to realize that all along the way, the Lord was in this place and we didn’t know it.
