LIFT Daily Prayer: Great Boldness of Speech | September 26, 2025
-
uh Friday, September 26th. Shabbat shalom. Amen to that. 2 Corinthians 3. 2 Corinthians 3 uh vers uh verse 12. 2 Corinthians 3:12 is the verse for today. And that’s what we’re going to be praying. Paul there says to the Corinthians, “Therefore, since we have such hope, we use great boldness of speech.” Therefore, the the thrust for today’s prayer is mostly wrapped up in the the therefore meaning he has been telling the church in his second epistle, second Timothy or second Corinthians, he’s been telling them over and over again that
-
um he’s giving them this instruction. And he he’s given them that instruction. He’s urged them to forgive these individuals. He’s urged them to not withhold forgiveness. He’s he’s been telling them to to walk rightly before the Lord. And he’s laying all these things out and he’s giving them that fatherly advice that all of us must have that we need.
-
And if you don’t have a father, you have a Bible. Remember that right now. You might say, “Oh, I don’t have anybody in my life.” You’ve got the Bible. the greatest manual on life there is. And he says, “Therefore, since we have such hope with everything that you’ve just heard, Christian, what you’ve just read, all these things apply to you.
-
You have been given so much hope, believer. What do we do with all that confidence and hope and assurance?” He says, “We use great boldness of speech.” And I love that because this biblical type of boldness isn’t loud. Okay? It’s not loud speech. It’s not crazy speech. When I say crazy speech, I mean, you’ve seen crazy speech where people are like protesting or looting or rioting and or they’re mindless trying to debate somebody, but they’re mindless because they don’t have an argument.
-
They just never stop talking. They just never stop. their mouth is moving and they’re loud and they think I don’t know what they think. That’s not what we’re talking about here. When he talks about use great boldness of speech, it’s when you talk to someone about the things of God, you know what you’re talking about. You are sure.
-
You are not, “Well, I think so.” or well I feel that the Bible means that is not what the scriptur is teaching here about about us having um bold speech or boldness of speech. It means that we know what it is we believe from the word of God. Christian, you and I, and I mean this humbly, please. I hope you know that we should be honestly the most bold, the most winsome, the most firm, the most loving, the most truthful, the most caring, uh the most concerned, uh the most in touch, the most alert, the most engaged.
