LIFT Daily Prayer: Day 209: King of Kings and Lord of Lords
-
So this Sunday, July 27th, 2025, I think if I have this right, we are 27 days into our journey together. And um it’s Revelation 19:E1 16. Revelation 19, the chapter that all of us should be very familiar with. A thrilling chapter, one of my favorite chapters in the entire Bible. Revelation 19:1 16 says, “And he has on his robe and on his thigh a name written, King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
-
” Let’s look at this together for a moment. Jesus has on Jesus’s robe. So Jesus has on his robe. So this is just before the second coming happens. Just before the second coming is revealed, at this moment on earth, the nations of the earth are gathering together for war and they’re heading to they’re staging in haragedon Megiddo or we say Armageddon and that’s taking place right Now, as this verse comes into view, and so as they’re assembling, Jesus interrupts their attempt to basically destroy the entire world with war. These would be
-
the forces of the antichrist. We know from Ezekiel and we know from Daniel and from the book of revelation the the forces of the antichrist uh versus some other nations that are not uh thrilled about him. Apparently, they come to this valley of Meged or we call Harmageddon at the during the seventh year of the 7-year peace treaty, the seven-year tribulation period.
-
And Jesus interrupts, and this is how he interrupts. He interrupts descending out of heaven, Revelation 19. And he has on his robe and on his thigh written King of Kings and Lord of Lords. This takes us right back to the last six chapters of the book of Isaiah. Go read them later. Wow. It’s the same event where Jesus, the Lord is is speaking in Isaiah and his robe is splattered in blood.
-
Isn’t that wow? You never think about that, right? And the scripture says that the Lord said thi this is the blood. This is the wine press splashed on me that I have tread out upon the earth as I judge the earth at in war. And he says that I’ve I treaded out the fierceness of the wrath of almighty God and no one was there to help me. I alone have done it.
-
And whoever is doing it, he is the Lord in Isaiah. Here’s the revelation picture. He’s coming back as king of kings and lord of lords at the second coming, not the rapture, of course, second coming. And it says in Revelation 19 that we are in heaven. The church is in heaven and we come back with him in this event.
-
We are going to be behind him in his return and he will have on his robe king of kings and lord of lords. Why do we pray this this morning? We pray this because over your life and mine he is king of kings and lord of lords. Sometimes we get discouraged and we don’t think he’s moving fast enough. Sometimes we get discouraged and we don’t think he’s doing enough or whatever’s going on. But we have our critique.
-
Little do we know that every moment of every situation of every ticking of the clock, he is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. There is nothing outside of his jurisdiction. You say, “Well, Jack, why doesn’t he do something about the war in Ukraine, for example?” He will, and he is. He’s using it.
