LIFT Daily Prayer: Day 203: You Are Chosen by God
-
We’re in our 203rd day and we haven’t missed a day yet. Isn’t God good? Isn’t God faithful? It’s been amazing. So, um, today’s Monday, July 21st. Monday, July 21st. And I’m glad that you guys are all here. Terry is telling me no sound. Terry Lynn said no sound. Is that true, everybody? Can you guys let me know that we have sound? Let me check on the sound.
-
It says that I have sound here. Terry Lynn. Let me get one more person to say I’ve got sound. Anybody there? Sound. Please let me know. Let me know on the sound. Good sound. All right. Praise the Lord. Okay, you guys. 1 Thessalonians 1:4. 1 Thessalonians 1:E4 very short very sweet Paul the Apostle tells the believers in Thessalonica he tells them this knowing beautiful statement the verse opens up knowing beloved brethren your election by God very simple statement very simple declaration in first Thessalonians chapter 1 he
-
opens up his address to them. He had been with them, by the way, for 3 to four weeks. That’s what we know that when Paul physically went through Thessalonica on his missionary journey heading into Europe, further into Europe, he was there 3 to four weeks. Uh we know that he taught them about their eternal security and their rapture in first Thessalonians.
-
That’s what he taught them. That their eternal security is founded in Christ and that God is faithful to take you all the way through to the end and that the Lord Jesus could come at any time. So keep your eyes open. I paraphrase obviously, but in chapter 1 verse4 when he’s kicking it off, he says to them, “Knowing, beloved brethren, your election by God.
-
” Isn’t that a beautiful thing? In other words, hey brothers and sisters, we all rejoice. Thank God and hallelujah that those of us who know the Lord, this is what we know. We know this that we are elect of God. Meaning that God has called us out of the world. Please listen. Do you know that God has called us out into a new life in Christ? Do you know that? that knowing you’re saved, knowing that you’re a child of God, and knowing that the work that he’s doing in you is a forever work.
