LIFT Daily Prayer: Day 198: Set Your Mind on Things Above
-
Thursday again, Thursday, July 17th. And let’s let the scripture, if you’re new to this, we are asking the Lord in prayer as we intercede for one another. We leave also our prayer request in the comment section so that the rest of the prayer team that’s on this gathering will pray for you. So this becomes a a prayer journal.
-
Think about it on your end and on my end as these prayer requests are put down on these um comment sections. It’s on online together and it becomes a perpetual ongoing prayer journal for all of us brothers and sisters around the world together. And so this is good. Here’s the verse, everyone.
-
Here’s what we’re praying today. And this is why what we’re doing is important. We’re not just having a brief devotion together to start our day. But it’s more than that. We are praying the devotion. We’re we are praying it. We’re praying the word of God together. This is so important. Colossians chapter 3 verse 2. Colossians 3 verse two.
-
Set your mind on things above, not on things of the earth. I’m going to read it a few times and I’m going to stress. Listen, how how are we going to pray this? Listen. Listen to the tone of my voice. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. Four, set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.
-
Think of that. We’ve got the word set. Anchor our minds to what? Things above, not on things below. Notice the difference the Bible sets out right now in front of us. that there are things that exist above that transcend the things that exist here on earth. Think about that. With all of the persecution, with all of the bloodshed that’s taking place against Christians around the world, specifically in Africa, how important is this to us to set our mind on things above, not on things on this earth or of this earth.
