LIFT Daily Prayer: Day 152
-
Okay, listen. I’m going to read the verse maybe maybe twice. Once for sure, obviously. And then we’re going to just pray it. It’s big. I’m lifting it from this morning’s message from my notes because it’s so so needed. So, it’s first Corinthians 13 beginning at verse 8. Love never fails, but whether there are prophecies, they will fail.
-
Whether there are tongues, they will cease. Whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away. Verse 13 says, “And now abides faith, hope, and love. These three, but the greatest of these is love.
-
” So real quick before we pray this, a lot of people because of what is known as either um well it’s because of denominationalism. uh said when people try they’ll people will start a denomination and then they’ll try to try to twist the scriptures to fit their their uh groups their group think and they’ll say things like this to this verse which is with all due respect uh ridiculous and there’s not a Greek scholar on earth nor throughout history that has ever agreed with this interpretation.
-
Listen, this interpretation is wrong. And they say this, love never fails. Yep. Whether there are prophecies, they will fail. Whether there are tongues, they will cease. And whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part. When But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part will be done away.
-
And they say, when the Bible was completed, all of that other stuff finished up. All that other stuff is done. When the Bible was complete, prophecies, uh, the ministry of prophecy is done. The ministry of tongues is done. The ministry of knowledge is done. It all vanished away when the Bible was printed and produced in mass scale.
-
That is really dumb and it’s pathetic because people have a hard time with the ministry of prophecy or the ministry of tongues or the ministry of knowledge. And so, they can’t explain it. They don’t look at what the Bible says about it in totality and so they try to explain it away. Well, if you do that, then um you wind up wrestling with the scriptures and it never works out right.
