LIFT Daily Prayer: Day 147
-
Good morning wherever you may be. God bless your day, your evening, where are wherever you are. We are, excuse me, live together 5:00 a.m. Pacific time, California. We are glad that you’re here in our prayer time together. And so, good morning. We’ll get ready to pray here in a moment. The verse for us today, second John, 2 John chapter 1.
-
Now, 2 John only has one chapter, so you have to worry about that. But 2 John 1:3. 2 John 2 John 1:3. 2 John 1:3 is our prayer passage for this morning. And it is a wonderful one. It’s great. And you’ll see why here in a moment. So, as we wait for just a few seconds, coming up on 3,000 of you uh together here, um that’s on so 3,000 on uh Facebook and I can’t see what the other platforms are hosting right now, but um but I I’ll read it a few times through, but if you’re joining us for the first time, uh all this year we are doing Um, we’re really doing John
-
15:7 where Jesus encourages us for his word, the word of God to abide in us. And that when we pray, we’re to we are to pray the Bible. And I love it and I think you love it as well. And so we should. Second John 1:3, grace, mercy, and peace. Wow. Grace, mercy, and peace will be with you from God the Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father in truth and love.
-
Man, that’s one verse. Listen how how full it is. Grace, mercy, peace. That that amazing trinity of blessing. Grace, mercy, peace. Grace is getting what we don’t deserve. Mercy is not getting what we deserve. And peace, that’s the result. So grace, grace is when you and I have done nothing to cause God to do anything good for us and then some wonderful thing happens in our life and it didn’t have to happen but it did.
-
It’s wonderful. And what’s going on? God’s grace and then mercy. It’s, oh, this horrible thing’s going to take place. I deserve to be taken to the woodshed on this one. I uh, you know, I I shouldn’t have done this or said that or or whatever it might be where I do not I do not expect any grace from God. Of course not.
