LIFT Daily Prayer: Day 143
-
Nothing’s more important than what we’re doing right now. Even if the world were crumbling, what you and I are doing right now together, seeking the Lord together and calling out to him together in prayer, uh, just trumps everything else that’s going on in the world, no matter what it is. My world, your world, the world.
-
So, good morning to all of you guys. We’ll wait just a little bit longer. And I want to thank again all of you who are just being so encouraging uh to me and writing notes and and um just expressing your gratitude for these times together. How it’s been um working in your life to build other disciplines and that’s awesome and that’s the way it should be and I’m blessed to hear that.
-
very thankful to hear that. So, good morning. Good morning. God bless you guys. Okay, coming up at 3,000 3,000 of you guys. Shabbat shalom to our Jewish friends who are joining us. This is I want to remind you before we get going. It’s commendable to observe uh Sabbath on Friday and Saturday and it’s all about the day of rest, right? The day of rest and leaning into the Lord and giving him honor and glory.
-
But for us who are Gentiles, uh we’ve read both Old Testament, that is the Jewish Bible, we read it every day, and we read the New Testament, which is the account, the record, the fulfillment of the Old Testament scriptures. and uh every day, every hour, every moment of our lives as believers in Yeshua is the Sabbath.
-
And um remember, God told Moses that everything that he gave Moses was um was a type and a symbol of what was to come. And a lot of people get involved in believing that they’re keeping the law by keeping the Sabbath. The law is the ten commandments and the Sabbath is one of them. The scripture says that the law is fulfilled in Christ.
-
He fulfilled it all and he rested from his labors as God sat down and rested after creation. In the book, I think it’s the book of Colossians that tells us that Paul the Apostle, the great Jewish rabbi, declared that we now have a Sabbath in Christ Jesus all the time. And so Paul said, “I no longer esteem one day above the other, but all days the same in Christ.
