LIFT Daily Prayer: Day 115
-
You guys, it’s first Peter chapter 1 verse 23. 1 Peter, the first epistle to Pet or of Peter from Peter chapter 1 verse 23. And um I’ll read it again in a moment. There’s still people coming on just passing 2500 people. Having been born again, not of corruptible seed, but incorruptible seed through the word of God, which lives and abides forever. Wonderful, powerful verse.
-
quick quick devotion and we’ll pray it together and we’ll by praying it we are applying it to our lives. That’s what prayer will do for us in Christ especially when we pray his word. Um it’s awesome. So 1 Peter chapter 1 verse 23 having been born again. This is the Bible speaking to you.
-
The Bible says you have been born again. Jesus said, “You can’t go to heaven without being born again.” Right? So, think about that right now. There’s a lot of Catholics in light of the Pope’s death, a lot of people asking questions and a lot of people making assumptions. A lot of people are saying sentimental things.
-
Um, somebody asked Billy Graham a day or two, Franklin Graham. Franklin Graham a day or two ago um what he thought. It was a strange question, right? Wonder why they asked it. What did he think about the pope in his passing? And Franklin Graham said that Jesus said unless someone’s born again, he’ll never see the kingdom of heaven. And that’s a fact coming out of God’s mouth. And um here Peter backs that up.
-
1 Peter chapter 1 verse 23. Having been born again, it means that those of you who are children of God, you’ve been born again. You know it. It’s a past tense. You’ve been born again. That means God is in control of your life. Now, not of corruptible seed, but incorruptible. That is, not of any origins of this world has your life been transformed.
-
Not self-help, not drugs, not alterations of of mind, but because you’ve been born again, that has happened from an incorruptible seed. That is the very workings and power of God’s holiness and God’s life. And it says that you’ve been born again through the word of God. And you know that’s true.
-
We talked about that yesterday about how his sheep hear his voice, right? We don’t need to uh talk or be labor that much. I I talked at length yesterday in a series of podcasts that we did where um go Jesus said, “My sheep hear my voice.” That’s that’s part of having been born again. And that hearing his voice is you go to his word.
