Hey everybody, uh welcome to the Kirk Cameron Show. It’s our weekly wrapup of politics and culture. Uh helping you as families and and individuals and as members of the family of faith find truth in the midst of all of the chaos of what’s happening around us. So, let’s look through a biblical lens at important stuff that happened this week.
And then I want to look at some viral videos with my son, James, to make sure that I’m up on what everybody’s talking about. So, James, roll the video. Get ready to save even more money at the pump this holiday weekend as gas prices continue to fall. Gas Buddy out with results of its summer travel survey showing that the national average gasoline price this Memorial Day weekend is now at a 4-year low $38 a gallon.
It’s down from 358 last year and a$150 lower than it was in 2022. Yeah, it’s it’s awesome. I’ve been noticing it. Haven’t you? Gas prices are down. And this gets me excited uh because there’s a domino effect when gas prices go down. Um not not only do we get frustrated when gas is high, I lived in California where the gas prices were up to $6, $7 a gallon.
Literally, there’s a seven in front of the number in Malibu, California, and and other places like this. And here in Tennessee, I saw it for $2.66 yesterday. Uh it’s glorious. And you know, some people just they don’t understand why Trump does what he does or how he’s able to accomplish what he does. But I had an interesting conversation with Adam Corolla just yesterday and we talked about this and and he brought up a really fascinating insight.
Before I tell you what that insight is, let me just point out that these gas prices, it’s the second lowest in 20 years. Um Trump has uh been putting his his policies into place uh of energy dominance in America where he not only wants to stop relying on oil and gas from foreign countries where we’re sort of over a barrel uh literally and figuratively uh for our power.
But he also wants to open up the exporting potential of the United States of America to be able to sell gas and oil to other countries, which is phenomenal to help us uh pay off our ridiculous debt and make America strong financially to be able to uh use that money for defense and defend our country and keep prices lower and things more available for Americans.
